In memory of Patricia Monaghan: February 15, 1946 – November 11, 2012.
It is with great sadness and much respect that I write these words tonight. One of my favorite authors, Patricia Monaghan, passed on from this life and onto the next earlier this morning, November 11, 2012 at her home near Black Earth, WI with her husband Michael McDermott with her. I was shocked when I read this on Zsuzsanna Budapest’s and Selena Fox’s facebook pages…She truly was a spectacular Goddess scholar, women’s spirituality pioneer, poet, and author. ”Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at DePaul University, Patricia was also Founding Fellow of The Black Earth Institute, a think-tank for artists seeking to connect social justice, environment and spirituality through the arts” [1] and I know that she will be dearly missed.
Some of Patricia Monaghan’s works that are in my personal library include: The Red-Haired Girl from the Bog; The New Book of Goddesses and Heroines (that I reference quite often); The Goddess Path: Myths, Invocations, and Rituals; The Goddess Companion: Daily Meditations on the Feminine Spirit; and Wild Girls: The Path of the Young Goddess. Her works were truly instrumental in the development of my own personal spirituality in coming to know and understand the nature of the Goddess and the world around me.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I saw this this evening too
It is a time of peace and joy for the spirit passing beyond, but a time of sorrow for those left behind. It is for this reason that the most appropriate way of handling Death is with a celebration of Life. Patricia Monaghan’s life obviously is not a difficult thing to celebrate, and you do her honor with this post.

My kundalini was raised by one female who is a conduit of tara. And my Crown chakra opens in the company of another female, who asked me about out of body experiences. It’s as if women have been denied their basic knowledge of what they possess. In ancient imes the Ba -bi-lan associations Temple of Heliopolis also On, or Horon, where we also find helen of Troy, again ther truth of her is even covered by by the likes of bettany hughes. Helen was a priestess of The Kabairi. My sense is i am a female soul in a male body, i am a Hermaphrodite being. In this life i riased my children, roll reversal. 1982. But then i had the herd mentality. It was while i was doing pottery, in this my lecturer told me Pottery was traditionaly womens consciousness. The ancient pottery of the greeks was womens work . and the Sacred Earth they gathered deemed sacred works. Ancient greek pottery is pure alchemy, and metallurgy, powdered alumina sintered ceramics metallurgy. I’ve been told the early Smiths in the koptic region Nilos where women, and the fire ilses of the ancint greeks where the place of women who knew the art of Shakti. Since my mother of all Buddhas and siddhas is Tara , and i know of her via her orb of light and her presence. She now says their is a light coming from Cygnus , that will activate the pinela glands of many. There is this two sita and rama , now that sita has risen fron her ashes, she needed rama’s sacrifice to become the pheonix. In actual fact i just took from one women in my consciousness some very dark energy that put her through so much karma ordeals. Such is the reality of one on the path of enlightenment .
